A closed and sustainable supply chain: La Castagna Leopoldina, on the slopes of Monte Amiata, in the Maremma grossetana (Tuscany), produces and transforms Florentine chestnuts and chestnuts following natural rhythms, to offer the public the authentic and preservative-free taste of chestnut all year round.
Precious marrons glacés, brown creams, browns in syrup, chestnut flour and chestnut honey: all handcrafted, taking care of every phase of a sustainable and closed supply chain.
Story of a family, of a chestnut tree centenary: A love for nature that was born in the 70s, when in the countryside of Sorano, in the family farm, purchased at the end of the 40s by grandfather Francesco, dad Mario decides to plant, next to centenary browns, a new chestnut tree giving life to the "Laagna cast" farm. For the Gioacchini family, the planting of chestnut trees is a philosophy of life: hope and passion must be cultivated every day. They serve to leave a moral legacy to those who will come after us. So, in 2014, his daughter Francesca Gioacchini leaves the solid profession of pharmacist in Rome and returns to “home” to become an agricultural entrepreneur.
